penners.. there's normally a reason 99.99% of the time why things like this happen... I'll be honest here.. I'm surprised more things don't happen some of the stuff I have seen and heard...

The dog isd a problem then Ludo and you need to do something about it. You have to discipline against abnormal behaviour and that doesn't mean beating a dog. Get an electric collar and every time the dog shows agression give it a vibration or noise and if it's really serious a mild electric shock.

It's good to control barking as well or a dog that won't come when called. Check on ebay as they were about £50 and it's well worth it to keep control of the dog and be certain.

Just saying soldo. In these cases i dont get how the dog gets off really? Thats like saying all murders...blame the parents.

In both cases the upbringing will play a part, however the only innocent party is the poor victim.

Re: Another child killed by a dog.
I've got a Staffie and she's as gentle as you like until the postman knocks on the door when she barks like mental. She has developed a hatred for motorbikes too for some reason.

I wouldn't leave her alone with a child under any circumstances, but then I wouldn't do that if she was any other breed either.

Luckily we have no young children in the family anyway. When my nephews were young and visited, we would always make sure that they weren't left alone with the dog, but equally we would ensure that they didn't do anything to aggravate the dog (pulling her tail etc)

Generally my dog just wants peace and quiet and will usually slope off to her bed if we have visitors once the initial excitement of a new person to lick has subsided.

60's - German Shepps
70's - Dobermans
80's - Rotties
90's - Akitas and Pitts
... and now it's the Staffs...

Give it 10 years it will be Labs!!

Re: Another child killed by a dog.
I think both the type of owners and the type of dogs are the issue. The majority of the responsibility goes towards the owner but I don't think you can ignore the breed of dog involved.

Penners... not sure dogs can go to court to plead their innocence or not ??

Re: Another child killed by a dog.
I am talking bullshit as Staffs have always been around and they can be very dangerous so forget the 80's bit, the dogs that need to go are basically the dogs that are status symbols for young gang type thugs . I sort of agree with Eusovic below it is the owner that makes the dog bad but an animal especial the said status dogs always has instinct to attack there lies the danger.

spot on, it's about the owner in the majority of the time, not the dog. But at the same time i can understand why some people want certain types of dogs banned, so that bad owners aren't given the option. in their eyes i guess the point of view is that no matter how bad the owner, there's only a certain amount of danger an ankle biting yorkie can be, for instance?

Very sad situation The government are the ones that need to act and think very seriously about what can be done.

Personally I would ban the breeds new ones since 1980's coming into GB which are dangerous to human life, though I know that is very controversial as a German shepherd could also be seen as dangerous.

Re: Another child killed by a dog.
It's the way that a dog is raised from a pup that determines whether they are dangerous or not...

A fucktard who uses it as a status symbol will more often than not raise a snappy volatile dog

A person who doesn't...usually has a lovely pet

Simple

I have to say gank that Trevor is right. You have the option to select the "Football Forum" or the Off-Topic Forum". Stop being silly and just select "Football Forum" in future.

I'm still the master of problem solving. If you ever bothered to check problem solving websites you would know that, but you won't see it on here because this is a West Ham website.

Trevor B 3:31 Fri Oct 14
Re: Another child killed by a dog.
Indeed, but oddly enough west ham fans have other things to talk about other than west ham. as you have demonstrated many times in the past.

You're not very good at solving problems any more either.
